Melee workload
Melee weapons manage sharpness, close-range camera, body positioning, and commitment. Shields, counters, mobility, and reach vary widely across the eleven melee types.
Ranged workload
Bowguns and Bow still operate at specific effective distances. They add aiming, ammunition or coating choices, reload or stamina behavior, and often less room for incoming damage.
Damage is not the decision
Balance changes and matchup skill outweigh a generic tier label. Choose the family whose mistakes you understand and whose preparation you are willing to maintain.
A fair comparison
Test one responsive melee weapon and one mobile ranged weapon against the same familiar target.
- Compare survival and control, not clear time alone.
- Use valid ammo or coatings.
- Notice camera and aiming comfort.
