Short answer: Under Ver.1.042, all 25 Event and Challenge Quests that previously required an online connection to accept can be played offline when available. Use the Quest Counter and Capcom's official schedule to confirm each quest, requirement, and current status.

Where to find Event Quests

Install Ver.1.042 or later, open an appropriate Quest Counter, and select the Event Quest list. Available quests are displayed toward the top. Availability can still depend on Hunter Rank, progression, and the quest's current status.

Ver.1.042 allows the 25 Event and Challenge Quests that previously required online acceptance to be played offline when available. Multiplayer remains an online feature; offline quest access does not remove platform or network requirements from cooperative play.

What changed in Ver.1.042

Capcom made Just What the Doctor Ordered a permanent offline-capable quest and removed the prior online-acceptance requirement from the current set of 25 Event and Challenge Quests. Listed examples include Special Assignment: Slay Gogmazios, Freedom from Solitude, and The Dreamer's Stairway.

This change affects access, not automatic rewards. The hunter must still meet the quest's rank and progression conditions and complete its objective. Read our full Ver.1.042 analysis for the demo-transfer limitation and gameplay fixes.

  • Confirm the title screen reports Ver.1.042.00.00 or later.
  • Open the current Event Quest list.
  • Check rank and progression requirements.
  • Use offline play only for quests shown as available.

Use the official schedule

Check Capcom's live Event Quest schedule for current start and end times. A copied list can become inaccurate after a rotation or update, so this page intentionally links to the live source instead of pretending a static table is always current.

Verification note: Event times are displayed for a specific time zone. Confirm the schedule's local-time setting before planning a group.

Before accepting a quest

Confirm the Hunter Rank requirement, target, locale, objective, participant limit, and special failure conditions. Prepare the requested finish and relevant condition recovery before posting to multiplayer.

  • Install the current update.
  • Check rank and progression requirements.
  • Read the reward description.
  • Verify the event end time.
  • Restock before joining another player's quest.

If an event is missing

First confirm the event is currently active and that the game is online on the latest version. Then check rank, story access, and platform service status. If every requirement is met, consult Capcom support notices for a known issue.
