Verified equipment table
This table is a reproducible baseline. Random Artian rolls and talismans are identified explicitly instead of being presented as guaranteed equipment.
| Slot | Equipment | Decorations / requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon | Wicked Regnum (Gogmazios-upgraded Mundus Atlas) | Enhancer/[Element] III, Critical III, Critical II |
| Head | Gore Helm β | Chain, Sane |
| Chest | Udra Miremail γ | Challenger, Flayer |
| Arms | Rey Sandbraces β | Throttle |
| Waist | Rey Sandcoil γ | No decoration required |
| Legs | Blango Greaves α | Mighty, Phoenix |
| Talisman | Challenger Charm III | Craftable baseline; replace only after recalculating the full skill list |
Target skill package
- Critical Boost 5
- Power Prolonger 3
- Matching Element Attack 1+
- Agitator 5
- Latent Power 5
- Antivirus 3
- Maximum Might 3
- Counterstrike 3
- Coalescence 2
- Burst 1
- Flayer 1
- Gore Magala's Tyranny 2-piece
- Rey Dau's Voltage 2-piece
- Lord's Soul 3-piece
Roll and version notes
- Craft Mundus Atlas with three matching-element parts and three Attack infusions before upgrading it with Tarred Devices.
- The ideal published reinforcement target is two Attack EX, one Attack III and two Sharpness EX. Near-perfect Attack, Affinity or Sharpness combinations remain usable; do not discard a functional weapon solely because one roll differs.
- Target Gore Magala's Tyranny and Lord's Soul on the Gogmazios Artian weapon, prioritizing the set bonus that makes the current armor combination function.
- Fire is favored for monsters such as Gore Magala and Lagiacrus; Thunder for targets including Mizutsune and Uth Duna; Ice for Rey Dau; Dragon for Arkveld, Rathalos, Rathian and Zoh Shia. Always confirm the target's current hitzones before treating an element list as universal.
Core requirements
- Power Prolonger 3 is the weapon-function baseline because more Amped-state uptime improves the attacks the build is designed to use.
- Build dependable affinity before adding Critical Boost 5; Gore Magala's Tyranny plus Antivirus is the practical bridge into the final affinity package.
- Keep enough sharpness for a complete active phase. A theoretical attack increase is not an upgrade when sharpening breaks repeated Full Release Slash opportunities.
- Treat each elemental weapon as a matchup tool. One general-purpose axe is a starting point, not proof that element selection is irrelevant.
Comfort layer
- Evade Extender 1–2 materially changes Switch Axe repositioning and is the first comfort option to restore when a damage set feels immobile.
- The craftable Challenger Charm III is the published baseline. A strong Golden Age talisman may improve the set, but it must not be required to reproduce it.
- Blazing Mahaiah is the deterministic HR50+ alternative while Wicked Regnum rolls are incomplete; Lala Selenocosmi is a strong earlier bridge with useful affinity, paralysis and white sharpness.
- Matchup resistance or Divine Blessing belongs in spare slots when it prevents healing interruptions or carts; real uptime matters more than a status-screen maximum.
Damage layer
- The finished weapon-side target is Critical Boost 5, Power Prolonger 3 and the matching elemental attack effect.
- The verified armor-side package reaches Agitator 5, Latent Power 5, Antivirus 3, Maximum Might 3 and Counterstrike 3, with efficient single points in Burst and Flayer.
- Counterstrike is valuable when Full Release Slash or actual hunt behavior activates it consistently; multiplayer targeting can reduce uptime.
- Coalescence benefits the Gore interaction after Frenzy is overcome, but it remains downstream of the core affinity and weapon-function requirements.
Progression stages
HR10 starter
Craft Barina Hache III. Use Guardian Arkveld head and chest, Guardian Rathalos arms and legs, Guardian Ebony waist, and Leaping Charm II. This gives early blue sharpness, paralysis, Weakness Exploit, wound-healing comfort and Evade Extender without decoration farming.
HR20–39 progression
Upgrade to Barina Hache IV. Guardian Fulgur Anjanath head, chest, arms and waist with Mizutsune Greaves β and Leaping Charm III provide Maximum Might, Agitator, Burst and strong mobility while decorations are still limited.
HR40+ affinity bridge
Use Lala Selenocosmi with Enhancer/Handicraft III, Critical II and Enhancer I. Combine Guardian Fulgur Helm β with Gore Mail α, Gore Vambraces β, Gore Coil β and Gore Greaves β. Counter Charm III, Mighty jewels and one Sane jewel complete the practical affinity engine.
HR50+ deterministic endgame entry
Blazing Mahaiah is the reliable crafted weapon before a strong Artian roll. A four-piece Gore setup plus Numinous Shroud β reaches Agitator 5, Power Prolonger 3, Maximum Might 3, Counterstrike 3 and Antivirus 3 without requiring Gogmazios weapon RNG.
HR100+ Gogmazios endgame
Build the verified table below only after Gogmazios, Arch-tempered armor and transcendence are available. Make the weapon for one frequently hunted element first, then expand the collection according to real farming targets.
Substitution rules
- No Wicked Regnum: use Blazing Mahaiah; before HR50 use Lala Selenocosmi. Preserve Power Prolonger and sharpness behavior when changing weapon jewels.
- No ideal set-bonus roll: prioritize Gore Magala's Tyranny so the armor package functions, then pursue Lord's Soul as the secondary target.
- No random Attack Boost talisman: Challenger Charm III is the complete craftable baseline and requires no luck.
- Missing a transcended slot: remove Coalescence, Flayer or a secondary affinity layer before Power Prolonger 3 or the skills needed to activate the set bonuses.
- Only one finished Artian axe: Dragon is a useful general starting choice, but save element-specific loadouts as repeated matchups justify the cost.
How to test the build
- Time Amped-state uptime across three normal hunts rather than a stationary training-room burst.
- Record how often sharpness forces maintenance during an enraged phase.
- Check whether Maximum Might and Counterstrike are actually active during the attacks that matter.
- Compare the same monster with the correct element and the general-purpose axe before investing in the full elemental collection.
- If a comfort substitution improves successful Full Release Slash cycles or reduces healing, count that gain instead of only comparing listed attack.

Is this Switch Axe build current?
Yes. It was reviewed for Ver.1.042.00.00 / post–Title Update 4 on August 5, 2026.
Do I need a perfect random talisman?

Can I substitute unavailable equipment?
Yes. Preserve the build function—stamina, sharpness, affinity or required set bonus—before secondary damage skills.
