A practical checklist for forming a group, joining quests, and solving common session mismatches.

Short answer: Match crossplay and privacy settings, form the same lobby or link, then post or join a quest whose story state every player can access.

Before grouping

Everyone should run the current game version, have online access on the chosen platform, and use compatible crossplay settings. Add or link players with the current in-game social tools.

Quest access

A player may need to reach a particular story state before others can join. If joining is unavailable, compare quest progression rather than repeatedly recreating the lobby.

A stable group routine

Agree on capture versus slay, restock before posting, and coordinate around limited carts.

  • Keep the monster facing a predictable direction when possible.
  • Leave room around wounds and knockdowns.
  • Record error codes when a connection fails.
