Upgrade or replace
An upgrade preserves skills while raising defense. A replacement changes the build. Check upcoming progression and material cost before heavily investing in a piece you are about to abandon.
Choose by complete set
Judge final defense, resistance, skills, and slots together. A high-rarity piece is not automatically better when it removes a function your weapon needs.
Material discipline
Upgrade the set you actively hunt in, keep a reserve for the next rank transition, and use the status screen to verify the result.
- Fix dangerously low defense first.
- Preserve weapon-function skills.
- Add matchup resistance only where useful.
